Network Algorithm (Patented)

Networks - Internet, Radio (Mobile) and Cable

Moving from timeslot (synchronous) to packet based
(asynchronous) networks provides some challenges.

FTI commissioned a CASE EPSRC Research project
at the University of Warwick to investigate, primarily
the shortcomings of Ethernet when used for safety
critical applications, in particular networks for Aviation
Ground Infrastructure. The PhD work resulted in  
a Network Algorithm that has been Patented in the UK,
Europe & USA.

The Network Algorithm offers improved QoS, throughput
and security in congested networks (e.g. Internet).

The largest improvements are seen in radio packets of
digital mobile networks (3G/4G).

5G and Satellite applications are in the process of being
explored.

 

Deterministic Ethernet

For closed networks (LAN/WAN), determinism,
synchronisation with lower delays are achievable with
optimised Hardware, incorporating the Network Algorithm.
